Chlorophyll ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Chlorophyll web application at chlorophyllai.com and app.chlorophyllai.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and password (securely hashed). You may optionally provide your name and USDA hardiness zone.

Garden Data: Plants you track, planting dates, notes, and photos you upload are stored in your account.

Location Data: If you enable location services, we use your approximate location solely to determine your USDA hardiness zone. We do not store precise coordinates.

Usage Data: We collect basic analytics (pages visited, feature usage) to improve the app. This data is aggregated and not tied to your identity.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and maintain the Chlorophyll service
To personalize your planting calendars based on your USDA zone
To send account-related communications (password resets, service updates)
To improve our app and develop new features

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase (hosted on AWS). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plaintext.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. We may share data only:

With service providers who help us operate the app (e.g., hosting, email)
If required by law or to protect our legal rights

5. Your Rights

You can:

Access your data at any time through your account
Update your information in account settings
Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us
Export your garden data (feature coming soon)

6. Children's Privacy

Chlorophyll is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes via email or in-app notification.
